Overview

The Senior Lead AI Engineer at Capital One will be instrumental in creating responsible and reliable AI systems that transform banking. This role is part of the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team, which focuses on advancing AI technologies to enhance customer interactions and internal processes through innovative AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
  • Leverage open source and SaaS AI technologies for large scale production systems.
  • Invent LLM optimization techniques for performance improvements.
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of AI systems.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • At least 6 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Experience in developing complex AI systems and mentoring teams.
  • Knowledge of LLM inference, similarity search, vector databases, and AI model optimization.
  • Strong communication skills for articulating complex AI concepts.

  • Salary range for New York: $250,800 - $286,200.
