Job Description

Overview

The Senior Lead AI Engineer at Capital One will play a key role in advancing the company's AI initiatives by designing and deploying AI-powered products. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and utilizing cutting-edge technologies to enhance customer experiences and optimize AI systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered solutions.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components, including foundation model training and model evaluation.
  • Leverage a wide array of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies.
  • Invent and implement optimization techniques to enhance the performance of large-scale production AI systems.
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of AI systems at Capital One.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipli
  • At least 6 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS or equivalent.
  • Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with AI technologies such as Large Language Models, Similarity Search, and VectorDBs.
