Job Description

Overview

As a Senior Lead AI Engineer at Capital One, you will play a pivotal role in creating responsible and reliable AI systems that transform banking experiences. You will work within the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team, collaborating with cross-functional partners to advance AI engineering and deploy proprietary AI solutions that deliver value to millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training and large language model inference
  • Leverage a broad stack of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies
  • Introduce and optimize LLM techniques to improve production AI systems' performance
  • Contribute to the technical vision and roadmap of foundational AI systems at Capital One

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
  • 6+ years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java
  • Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
  • Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong foundation in engineering and mathematics
