Overview

As a Senior Lead AI Engineer at Capital One, you will be part of the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team, focusing on creating responsible and reliable AI systems that redefine banking. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize AI-powered products that enhance customer interactions and improve operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, scientists, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components
  • Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies to build scalable solutions
  • Invent optimization techniques for large scale production AI systems
  • Contribute to the technical vision and roadmap for foundational AI systems

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
  • 6+ years of experience in AI and ML algorithm development
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java
  • Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
  • Strong foundation in engineering and mathematics
  • Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
