Overview

As a Senior Lead AI Engineer at Capital One, you will play a crucial role in advancing AI and machine learning capabilities within the organization. Your work will involve designing, developing, and deploying AI software components that improve customer interaction and internal processes, with a focus on responsible and scalable AI systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovative solutions that enhance customer experiences and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components
  • Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies
  • Introduce state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap for foundational AI systems

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
  • 6+ years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies
  • 6+ years of programming experience in Python, Go, Scala, or Java
  • Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
  • Experience in designing and developing complex AI systems
  • Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams
  • Strong foundation in engineering and mathematics
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
