Overview

The Senior Lead AI Engineer role at Capital One involves creating responsible and reliable AI systems to transform banking. You will work with a cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered products that enhance customer interactions and support the development of scalable AI infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
  • Leverage a broad stack of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies.
  • Introduce LLM optimization techniques to improve production AI systems.
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • 6+ years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms.
  • 6+ years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS.
  • Ability to design and support complex AI systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills within engineering teams.
  • Strong foundation in engineering and mathematics for optimization.
