Overview

The Senior Lead AI Engineer role at Capital One focuses on creating responsible AI systems that enhance banking experiences. This position entails working within the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team to develop and deploy AI-powered products through collaboration across multiple functions, aiming to drive innovation and improve customer interactions.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
  • Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies to enhance product offerings.
  • Invent optimization techniques for large scale production AI systems.
  • Contribute to the technical vision and roadmap for foundational AI systems.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, or related fields.
  • 6+ years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms.
  • 6+ years of programming experience in Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms.
  • Ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
  • Expertise in developing complex AI systems and optimization techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of large language models, similarity search, guardrails, and memory.
