Overview

The Senior Lead AI Engineer at Capital One will play a crucial role in creating responsible AI systems that enhance customer experiences in banking. This position involves collaborating with a cross-functional team to develop and support AI-powered products, as well as contributing to the technical vision of foundational AI systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components
  • Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies
  • Invent and introduce LLM optimization techniques for production AI systems
  • Contribute to the long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms
  • 6+ years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java
  • Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
  • Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams
  • Experience with LLM Inference, Similarity Search, Guardrails, and Memory
  • Strong foundation in engineering and mathematics
