Overview

The Senior Lead AI Engineer at Capital One will be instrumental in creating responsible and reliable AI systems that enhance customer experiences in banking. Working with the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team, the role focuses on designing and deploying AI software and solutions that leverage emerging technologies to deliver high-performance AI capabilities for both customers and associates.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
  • Leverage a broad stack of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies.
  • Invent and optimize techniques for large scale production AI systems.
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of AI systems.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, or related fields.
  • 6+ years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms.
  • 6+ years of programming experience in Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Ability to design and support complex AI systems.
  • Leadership and mentorship skills for engineering teams.
  • Experience with LLM Inference, Similarity Search, VectorDBs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
