Job Description

Overview

Raytheon is seeking a Senior Hardware Test Engineer to join their Mechanical Analysis and Test Department in Andover, Massachusetts. The role involves supporting comprehensive hardware testing during program development and production phases, addressing complex technical challenges, and ensuring adherence to test objectives, cost, and schedules.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform instrumentation planning and conduct hardware tests including vibration, mechanical shock, temperature, and humidity testing.
  • Execute dynamic and thermal data acquisition and analysis.
  • Coordinate test fixture design.
  • Prepare test plans, schedules, reports, and technical documentation.
  • Mentor junior section members and provide test guidance.
  • Support factory and supplier testing domestically and internationally.
  • Generate detailed technical reports and travel to test sites as needed.
  • Act as a technical leader within the department.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or 5 years of relevant experience (or 9+ years of experience without a degree).
  • Experience in hardware and environmental testing.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Proficiency with Siemens LMS Simcenter/Test.Lab and Unholtz-Dickie systems.
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude and lab experience.
  • Familiarity with environmental stress screening and vibration profile development.
  • Knowledge of military standards (MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-202, etc.).
  • Experience with dynamic shock and vibration analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in project management.
