Job Description

Overview

The Senior Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst will lead GIS efforts at Gateway Mapping, Inc. in Reno, Nevada. This role involves developing business opportunities, managing GIS projects, and collaborating with internal teams and external clients to provide GIS solutions and support. Key responsibilities

  • Lead GIS efforts on various projects
  • Develop new clients and projects
  • Coordinate and scope GIS solutions with project managers
  • Design and create GIS applications, maps, and system deployments
  • Provide GIS support to internal and external clients
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and best practices
  • Maintain a high degree of technical knowledge
  • Travel to other offices and client locations as required

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geographic Information Systems or equivalent
  • 7+ years in a GIS-related field
  • 2+ years developing GIS work
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Project management abilities
  • Relationship building with clients and team members
  • Proactive problem solving
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects
  • GIS application setup and deployment in various environments
  • Geospatial data management and analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Esri Technologies (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise)
  • Experience with open-source software (Leaflet, Openlayers, QGIS) and CADD (AutoDesk/Bentley)
