Job Description

Overview

A.O. Smith is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for its Consumer business within North America Water Treatment operations in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The role involves preparing, analyzing, and presenting financial data while partnering closely with sales and marketing teams to drive financial decisions.

Key responsibilities

  • Participate in forecasting and strategic/annual planning for the retail sales organization and cost centers
  • Complete financial reporting and analysis for the consumer sales organization, covering sales and expenses
  • Manage the accounting close process, including review of accruals and journal entries
  • Produce and analyze financial data, including variance analysis against budget and prior years
  • Support commercial leaders with financial data for decision-making
  • Manage Accounts Receivable and mitigate bad debt risk
  • Review processing of contractual programs and account deductions
  • Evaluate departmental functions and identify improvement opportunities
  • Prepare and post journal entries and manage account reconciliations
  • Maintain knowledge of accounting policies and financial systems

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Master's Degree in Accounting or CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting or corporate finance experience
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations
  • Experience with SAP/BPC/OneStream beneficial
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
