Overview

Strathmore Landscape Contractors is seeking a reliable and rigorous Senior Financial Analyst to join their finance team in Montreal. The role involves preparing management reports, budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses to support strategic decision-making for one of Canada's leading commercial snow removal and landscaping service providers.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial statements
  • Perform accounting entries
  • Prepare government remittances (TPS/TVQ, DAS, CNESST, etc.)
  • Conduct payroll and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
  • Perform variance analyses between actual results and budget objectives
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Conduct profitability, cost, and operational performance analyses
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses for management
  • Collaborate closely with accounting, finance, and operations teams
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal financial regulations
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual audit and support external auditors as needed

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field
  • 3 to 5 years or more of relevant experience in accounting and financial analysis
  • Proficiency in accounting ERP systems and financial software (e.g., NetSuite, Business Central, QuickBooks)
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Good knowledge of Quebec and Canadian tax regulations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and rigor
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English
