Overview

As a Senior Fiber Construction Technician at TDS Telecom in Post Falls, ID, you will oversee the construction and maintenance of PON/fiber network communications facilities. This role requires advanced operation of construction equipment and effective project management, while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee construction and maintenance of fiber network facilities.
  • Operate trenchers, backhoes, end loaders, and plows.
  • Coordinate with internal and external resources for project success.
  • Manage daily and weekly project work based on various factors.
  • Communicate project updates to the team.
  • Ensure timely completion of safety locates.
  • Draft and submit project documentation and redlines.
  • Engage with municipalities, utility companies, and other stakeholders.
  • Perform quality control inspections and training recommendations.
  • Service, clean, maintain, and repair equipment.

Required skills

  • 2+ years of operation of construction equipment.
  • 1+ years of team leadership experience.
  • Ability to obtain a Class A CDL.
  • Experience with fiber optic construction and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance.
