Overview

As a Senior Fiber Construction Technician at TDS Telecom in Meridian, ID, you will oversee the construction and maintenance of fiber network communications facilities. You will manage advanced construction equipment operations and ensure project coordination with internal and external resources, all while adhering to safety protocols.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee construction and maintenance of fiber optic network facilities.
  • Manage daily and weekly project work based on various factors.
  • Coordinate with supervisors to ensure supply of work and materials.
  • Engage with municipalities, utility companies, and contractors.
  • Read construction plans and manage project documentation.
  • Perform advanced operations of construction and test equipment.
  • Install, troubleshoot, splice, and maintain fiber optic facilities.
  • Train and monitor team members while ensuring safety compliance.
  • Complete all related paperwork in a timely manner.

Required skills

  • 2+ years of construction equipment operation experience.
  • 1+ years of experience leading teams through mentorship and project management.
  • Ability to obtain a Class A CDL.
  • Understanding of telecommunications products and services.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
