Overview

The H&K Group is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator/Project Manager for their Maryland Division/HTI. The role involves planning, directing, and coordinating project activities for public and private projects, ensuring that goals are accomplished within the designated time frame and budget. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, a team player, and a creative problem solver.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Solicit and maintain positive relationships with clients
  • Analyze plans and specifications to determine project requirements
  • Prepare and submit quality estimates within the provided timeframe
  • Solicit bids and negotiate contracts with subcontractors
  • Prepare new job folder set up information
  • Evaluate and prepare pricing for change orders
  • Direct and coordinate project personnel to ensure timely progress
  • Provide advice to solve problems as they arise

Required skills

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • Five years of experience in Heavy Civil Construction
  • Driver's license and clean driving record
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and specialized project software
  • Ability to fit test and utilize appropriate PPE
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the job
