Overview

Peckham Industries is seeking a Senior Estimator for Milling and Paving to oversee the estimating process for various projects in Palmer, Massachusetts. This role involves performing market analysis, mentoring a team of estimators, and developing estimating processes while ensuring alignment with company values.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of estimators to drive results
  • Review project plans and specifications for scope definition
  • Prepare comprehensive project documentation including estimates and cost breakdowns
  • Conduct extensive market analysis for project insights
  • Assign estimating responsibilities for each project
  • Identify risk areas and assess their magnitude
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders for information gathering
  • Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers for competitive pricing
  • Evaluate bids from subcontractors to ensure compliance

Required skills

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in Asphalt Paving/Heavy Highway construction estimating
  • Experience estimating projects between $5M and $25M
  • Proficient in B2W Estimating Software, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Legal right to work in the U.S.
