Overview

As a Senior Engineer in Embedded Software at GE Vernova, you will play a key role in architecting and testing Edge solutions for embedded systems, driven by the mission of supporting the energy transition. You will lead multimillion-dollar R&D programs, collaborating with various partners including U.S. government agencies, to drive innovative computing solutions that contribute to a sustainable future.

Key responsibilities

  • Transition edge computing and embedded systems from lab demos to fieldable prototypes
  • Design, model, simulate, implement, and optimize real-time embedded systems
  • Collaborate with hardware suppliers and engineering tool providers for industrial applications
  • Lead proposals and projects with U.S. government agencies for infrastructure protection
  • Advance the state of the art in embedded computing through collaboration
  • Publish technical papers, file patents, and contribute to open-source communities

Required skills

  • Ph.D. or Master's/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • 7 years of experience in FPGA/SoC design and development with Verilog and VHDL
  • Experience with Xilinx and/or Altera devices, tools, and ecosystem
  • Experience with real-time embedded applications on various processors
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++/C#, Java, Python, MATLAB
  • Experience with Linux driver/kernel development and Linux build systems
  • Knowledge of real-time hypervisors, containers, real-time operating systems
  • Understanding of embedded system security and cyber security techniques
