Job Description

Overview

As a Senior Embedded Computing Engineer at GE Vernova, you will play a crucial role in architecting and implementing Edge solutions for embedded systems, driving R&D programs within the energy sector. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including government agencies and strategic partners, to transition innovative technologies into fieldable prototypes.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with GE Vernova businesses to transition edge computing and embedded systems from lab demonstrations to prototypes.
  • Design, model, simulate, implement, and optimize real-time critical embedded systems.
  • Collaborate with hardware suppliers to identify and select solutions for industrial and defense applications.
  • Lead projects with U.S. government agencies to create innovative solutions for critical infrastructure.
  • Engage with universities and industry partners to advance embedded computing technology.
  • Publish technical papers, file patents, and contribute to open-source communities.

Required skills

  • Ph.D. or Master's/Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • 3-7 years of strong FPGA/SoC design and development experience with Verilog and VHDL.
  • Knowledge of Xilinx and/or Altera devices, tools, and ecosystem.
  • Experience in developing real-time embedded applications on various microcontrollers and processors.
  • Strong embedded programming skills in languages such as C/C++, Java, Python, MATLAB.
  • Experience with Linux driver/kernel development and build systems (e.g., Yocto).
  • Active/current U.S. security clearance (desired)
  • Working knowledge of real-time hypervisors and operating systems.
