Overview

GE Vernova is seeking a Senior Embedded Computing Engineer to architect, implement, and test Edge solutions for embedded systems. This role involves leading significant R&D programs aimed at creating innovative solutions for energy transition projects, collaborating with government agencies and various partners.

Key responsibilities

  • Architect, implement, and test Edge solutions for embedded systems
  • Lead multimillion-dollar R&D projects aligned with energy businesses
  • Design, model, simulate, implement, and optimize real-time critical embedded systems
  • Collaborate with hardware suppliers and engineering tool providers
  • Shape proposals and lead projects with U.S. government agencies
  • Collaborate with universities and commercial partners to advance embedded computing
  • Publish technical papers, file patents, and contribute to open-source communities

Required skills

  • Ph.D. or Master's/Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related disciplines
  • 7+ years of industry experience for Ph.D., 10+ for Master's, 15+ for Bachelor's
  • Strong FPGA/SoC design and development experience with Verilog and VHDL
  • Knowledge of Xilinx and/or Altera devices and tools
  • Experience in developing real-time embedded applications on microcontrollers and processors
  • Experience with heterogeneous computer architectures and hardware acceleration techniques
  • Strong embedded programming skills in C/C++/C#, Java, Python, MATLAB
  • Experience with Linux driver/kernel development and build systems (e.g., Yocto)
  • Active/current U.S. security clearance
  • Experience with real-time hypervisors and operating systems
