Job Description

Overview

As a Senior Embedded Computing Engineer at GE Vernova, you will lead the architecture, implementation, and testing of Edge solutions for embedded systems. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to transition innovative solutions from research to real-world applications, particularly in the energy sector.

Key responsibilities

  • Architect, implement, and test Edge computing solutions for embedded systems
  • Transition projects from lab demonstrations to fieldable prototypes
  • Design, model, simulate, and optimize real-time embedded systems
  • Collaborate with hardware suppliers to select solutions for industrial applications
  • Work with U.S. government agencies on proposals and lead innovative projects
  • Publish technical papers and contribute to open-source communities

Required skills

  • Ph.D. or Master's/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related discip
  • 3-7 years of FPGA/SoC design experience with Verilog and VHDL
  • Knowledge of Xilinx and/or Altera devices, tools, and ecosystems
  • Experience in developing real-time embedded applications on various processors
  • Strong embedded programming skills in languages like C/C++, Java, Python, MATLAB
  • Experience with Linux driver and kernel development, Linux build systems like Yocto
  • Understanding of embedded system security requirements and cyber security techniques
