Job Description

Overview

As a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer at GE Vernova, you will be instrumental in architecting, implementing, and testing Edge computing solutions for embedded systems. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including U.S. Government Agencies, to lead significant R&D projects aimed at advancing technologies for energy generation and decarbonization.

Key responsibilities

  • Transition edge computing and real-time embedded controls from lab demonstrations to fieldable prototypes.
  • Design, model, simulate, implement, and optimize real-time embedded systems.
  • Collaborate with hardware suppliers and engineering tool providers for industrial applications.
  • Lead projects that create innovative solutions to protect critical infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with academic institutions and industrial partners to advance embedded computing.
  • Publish technical papers, file patents, and contribute to open-source communities.

Required skills

  • Ph.D. or Master's/Bachelor's degree in related engineering fields with significant experience.
  • 3-7 years of FPGA/SoC design and development experience using Verilog and VHDL.
  • Experience with Xilinx and/or Altera devices, including ModelSim and Intel Quartus.
  • Development of real-time embedded applications on microcontrollers, FPGAs, x86, and ARM processors.
  • Strong embedded programming skills in languages such as C/C++, Java, Python, and MATLAB.
  • Experience in Linux driver/kernel development and build systems like Yocto.
  • Familiarity with real-time hypervisors and operating systems.
