Job Description

Overview

As a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer at GE Vernova, you will play a crucial role in architecting, implementing, and testing Edge solutions for embedded systems focused on the energy transition. You will lead R&D programs aligned with energy businesses such as Power Generation and Renewables, working collaboratively with government agencies and strategic partners to drive innovation in embedded computing solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Transition edge computing and embedded control systems from lab demonstrations to fieldable prototypes
  • Design, model, simulate, implement, and optimize real-time critical embedded systems
  • Collaborate with hardware suppliers and engineering tool providers for industrial and defense applications
  • Work with U.S. government agencies to develop innovative solutions for critical infrastructure
  • Advance the state-of-the-art in embedded computing through partnerships
  • Publish technical papers, file patents, and contribute to open-source communities

Required skills

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field with 7+ years of experience,
  • 3-7 years of FPGA/SoC design and development experience using Verilog and VHDL
  • 3-7 years of experience with Xilinx and/or Altera devices and tools
  • 3-7 years of experience developing real-time embedded applications on microcontrollers and FPGAs
  • 3-7 years of experience with heterogeneous computer architectures and hardware acceleration techniques
  • Strong embedded programming skills in C/C++/C#, Java, Python, MATLAB, etc.
  • 3-7 years of experience with Linux driver/kernel development and Linux build systems (e.g., Yocto)
