Overview

Boeing is seeking a Senior Electronic Design Engineer to join their Integrated Advanced Systems team in Berkeley, Missouri. The role involves the development of advanced mission systems, including leading embedded software development for Software Defined Radios and participating in the evaluation and testing of various communication and sensor technologies. The position requires collaboration across multiple disciplines and a commitment to continuous learning in a diverse and innovative environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Develops and validates requirements for complex communication, sensor, and electronic warfare systems
  • Performs trade studies, modeling, simulation, and analysis to optimize system performance
  • Defines and conducts tests to validate design performance against requirements
  • Manages supplier performance to ensure compliance with requirements
  • Supports project management with development of work statements, budget, and schedule
  • Writes proposals to support new business development
  • Leads embedded software implementation for the team's Software Defined Radio
  • Provides guidance throughout the product lifecycle from manufacturing to customer use

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical), Computer Science or related fields
  • 9+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor's, or 7+ years with a Master's, or 3+ years with a PhD
  • Experience programming in C/C++, Python, or C#
  • Experience with embedded systems development and RF hardware
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes or containerization technologies
  • Knowledge of message patterns or transport technologies (e.g., ZMQ, Apache MQ)
  • Experience with Radar or EW systems and Open Architectures, particularly Big Iron
  • Development experience on Linux environments
  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance required
