LiRo-Hill is a 1100-person firm with offices in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston and Edison, NJ.Responsibilities We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the planning, design, and delivery of electrical systems for complex transportation infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and experience working on large, multidisciplinary transportation projects. This role involves technical oversight, design leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and collaboration with clients, agencies, and project teams to deliver safe, resilient, and codecompliant electrical systems for transit, rail, roadway, tunnel, and airport projects. Technical Leadership & DesignLead the design and specification of electrical systems for transportation projects, including:Power distribution (medium and low voltage)Lighting and controlsTraction power and substations (rail/transit)Communications, SCADA, and control systemsFire life safety and emergency power systemsITS, signal power, and roadway electrical systemsPrepare and review design drawings, calculations, technical reports, and specificationsEnsure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and authority requirements, including NEC, NFPA, IEEE, AASHTO, and local agency standardsPerform load analysis, shortcircuit analysis, grounding, protection coordination, and energy studiesEvaluate new technologies and sustainable design solutions for transportation infrastructure Project Management & CoordinationServe as discipline lead or technical manager for electrical scope on multidisciplinary projectsCoordinate electrical designs with civil, structural, mechanical, and systems engineering disciplinesSupport development of project schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and risk mitigation strategiesParticipate in design reviews, constructability reviews, value engineering studies, and quality control processes Client & Stakeholder EngagementInterface with transportation agencies, utilities, contractors, and client representativesPresent technical concepts and design solutions to both technical and nontechnical audiencesSupport proposal development, including scope definition, fee estimates, and technical narratives Mentorship & Team DevelopmentMentor and guide junior and midlevel engineersPerform technical reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure highquality deliverablesContribute to the development of internal standards, best practices, and lessons learned QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required)Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering for transportation or large infrastructure projectsDemonstrated experience delivering projects for:T
