Job Description

Overview

Amarx Search, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a direct hire position in Rochester, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engineering support for military communication products and will work closely with cross-functional teams to address issues related to analog, digital, and RF circuits throughout their lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor daily factory yields and investigate failures to determine corrective actions
  • Mitigate component shortages by selecting and qualifying alternative components or redesigning circuits
  • Determine design, process, and test improvements to increase product quality
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to implement necessary circuit changes prior to product launches
  • Lead investigations and coordinate tasks, providing guidance to junior staff
  • Support digital and related analog hardware designs and perform detailed analysis of circuitry

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Civil Engineering (BSCE)
  • 6+ years of relevant experience (4 years with a Master's degree, 10 years with no degree)
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance
  • Hardware troubleshooting for analog, RF, and digital circuits to component level
  • Experience designing and conducting engineering experiments
  • Familiarity with lab equipment: Oscilloscope, DMM, Spectrum & Network analyzers
  • Proficient in analyzing designs and communicating technical information
  • Experience leading small technical design or troubleshooting teams
  • Knowledge of simulation tools for circuit design and analysis
  • Experience with tactical radios and reading schematics
  • Working knowledge of LabVIEW and Jira
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
