Overview

VanTran Industries, Inc. is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of magnetic designs and components. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure design quality and performance while managing complex projects from conception to production.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and refine product designs using CAD software and engineering principles
  • Perform design calculations, simulations, and feasibility studies for transformers
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation
  • Design wiring schematics and control box layout
  • Lead design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies
  • Support prototype development and testing activities
  • Identify opportunities for design improvements and innovation

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering field
  • 5+ years of experience in product design and development
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA)
  • Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and design standards
  • Experience in product lifecycle management (PLM) systems (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Lean design principles and Six Sigma methodologies
