Job Description

Overview

Red River Commodities is seeking a Senior EHS Manager to lead and implement the company's environmental, health, and safety strategies across multiple food manufacturing facilities. This hands-on role requires expertise in OSHA compliance and aims to foster a proactive safety culture while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of company-wide EHS strategies and initiatives.
  • Promote a behavior-based safety culture emphasizing accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on safety performance and risk mitigation.
  • Coach and mentor plant-level safety professionals and operational leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
  • Develop and implement programs focused on hazard identification and injury prevention.
  • Conduct internal audits, inspections, and compliance assessments.
  • Oversee training programs related to safety for all employees and leadership.
  • Partner with operations on capital projects and process improvements to ensure safety.
  • Manage environmental compliance programs including waste management and chemical management.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field
  • 5-10+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience in manufacturing
  • Strong experience in food manufacturing and safety culture transformation
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS compliance standards
  • Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and analytical skills
  • Experience with behavior-based safety programs and risk management systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
  • Preferred certifications: CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHMM
