Overview

As a Senior Distinguished Engineer at Capital One Canada, you will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of the International Card Tech team. This position involves mentoring and guiding engineers, driving transformation changes, and influencing the engineering practices across the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Influence the technical direction of International Card Tech and Capital One.
  • Mentor and coach emerging engineers to develop their skills.
  • Drive transformation in culture and delivery within the team.
  • Improve software engineering practices across the organization.
  • Collaborate with technical leaders to standardize and reuse solutions.
  • Assist in strategic decision-making by providing a technical perspective.
  • Stay updated on technology trends and best practices.

Required skills

  • 9+ years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture
  • 9+ years in enterprise architecture and design patterns
  • 10+ years of coding experience with languages such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, Swift
  • 10+ years of experience in the full lifecycle of system development
  • 5+ years of experience with public or private cloud technologies
