Job Description

Overview

The Senior Director of Epic Optimization & Transformation at OhioHealth is responsible for optimizing the EPIC platform across the organization. This strategic leadership role aims to enhance care and experience while maximizing investments in EPIC, achieving operational excellence, clinical innovation, and improving customer experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise-wide Epic optimization initiatives from assessment through implementation and outcomes.
  • Identify and shape high-value improvement opportunities in collaboration with clinical and operational leaders.
  • Develop strategic recommendations and roadmaps for Epic-first solutions and enterprise standardization.
  • Influence governance forums by presenting analysis, tradeoffs, and actionable recommendations.
  • Monitor results using data and performance measures to improve adoption across workflows.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Epic capabilities and workflow innovation.
  • Create executive-ready analyses and documentation to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to sustain momentum and ensure successful delivery of optimization priorities.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare operations, clinical leadership, or technology transformation
  • 5+ years of experience leading large-scale healthcare IT change initiatives
  • 3+ years of experience with EPIC or similar EHR platforms
  • Deep understanding of EPIC platform capabilities and governance
  • Experience in clinical process optimization supported by EPIC
  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to lead through influence
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills
  • Experience with project management, analytics, and data-driven decision making
  • Familiarity with governance structures and cross-functional teams
