Job LocationCAPE GIRARDEAU PLANTJob DescriptionThe Opportunity:The Senior Digital Engineer role focuses on developing, implementing, and continuously improving digital solutions that strengthen safety, quality, reliability, and productivity across manufacturing operations at our Cape Girardeau (Missouri) Family Care Plant. Click here to learn more about Cape !In this position, you will -Design and deploy new digital capabilities, standardize scalable approaches, and optimize existing tools and processes to deliver measurable business value.Connect Engineering, Information Technology / Operational Technology (IT/OT), and Operations with plant and enterprise digital systems. This role identifies high-value data from PLCs, HMIs, and other OT sources, then designs, implements, and configures secure data pipelines to MDF, Edge-to-Cloud, AI Factory, and other higher-level platforms. These pipelines enable standard solutions and support the creation of value-adding digital use cases.Report to the Site Digital Leader as a part of the Site Digital Organization and partner closely with the Site Data Asset Manager, Digital Platforms team resources, and site/department ICA (Intelligent Controls and Automation) resources. Success in this role requires a blend of IT and OT expertise, strong collaboration skills, and a continuous-improvement mindset in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Position Responsibilities:Demonstrate foundational knowledge of site ICA/OT and automation technologies (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens (as applicable), FactoryTalk and/or Aveva; engineering environments such as Studio, System Platform, etc.). This role may not require direct modifications to department control systems; however, it requires the ability to communicate using ICA/OT terminology and to clearly specify data needs and the components/programming required to access data (including potential new tags, routines, or interfaces).Maintain day-to-day digital operations for site digital solutions and support adoption across Operations.Support digital initiatives across the site to protect existing value and drive new value creation.Maintain awareness of end-to-end systems and data flows to enable effective troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication with cross-functional teams.Collaborate with IT, ICA, and Operations teams (site and central) to resolve technical issues and improve system performance.Provide customer-facing support with professionalism, strong service orientation, and the ability to remain effective in stressful situations.Job QualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree5+ years of experience in data engineering, digital engineering, or a closely related role.Ability and willingness to work onsite in a manufacturing environment with daily interaction with Operations, Engineering, IT/OT, and site leadership.English proficiency with strong written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to execute with excellence, set priorities, and develop effective work plans.Willingness to provide guidance and coaching to ICA resources, site digital teams, and data customers / end users.Competence with the Microsoft Office suite to support collaboration and communication.Strong analytical skills with the ability to use complex data to identify opportunities, recognize problems, and draw logical conclusions.Ability to produce and present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly matrixed organization, with a strong customer focus on delivering reliable data pipelines.Must be able to work onsite at our Cape Girardeau, MO plant 5 days per week.Preferred:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.Working knowledge of networking concepts, including OT 4.0, servers/virtualization, relevant databases, and process historians.Proficiency with Python/PySpark and SQL/SparkSQL.Compensation for
