Position: Senior Data Scientist Position Duties: 10% - Industry research and documentation Address business challenges by harnessing structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data in a distributed processing environment. Develop requirements, design and implement/prototype data visualization tools for internal KPIs, dashboards, analytics tools and client user interfaces. Develop and/or configure templates, tools, and support best practices for the presentation of quantitative information to clients. 40% - Forecast model and infrastructure development QA of science development and test methodologies. Management of client delivery or support projects. Design, develop and program methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse data sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement. Design, develop, and code machine learning models and algorithms to solve retail science problems. Develop and code software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. Prepare and deliver presentations that effectively describe complex quantitative methods in clear and concise communications 40% - Client-focused development and communications Present findings from analysis to the clients business and technical team, ie: communication of complex analysis using data visualization and business-friendly metrics and terminology. Translate business requirements to science and technical teams. Management of client delivery or support projects. Support the sales and delivery and ongoing success of client quantitative projects through the creation of templates, proposals, and case studies. 10% - Personal and company improvement Keep up to date with technical as well as industry developments, analytics software/tools, trends, and recognized best practices. Work within project constraints funding, resources, schedule, priority, goals. Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or related and 24 months of experience as a Junior Data Scientist Special Requirements: 24 months prior experience working with (1) Python, SQL, and Jupyter notebooks, (2) distributed development environment leveraging git and Jira, (3) data science techniques such as: Statistical analysis, Data mining, Data cleaning, Data visualization, Data analysis, (4) Machine learning modeling including forecasting, non-linear and linear optimization, neural networks, boosted trees, regularized GLM, and model agnostic explanatory, (5) providing services to Fortune 50 retailer clients.
