Job Description

Overview

Senior Counsel fully remote, for top tier boutique law firm client that has a focus on eDiscovery, Information Governance and Privacy Law. Duties: Identify legal issues and offer legal analysis and solutions for clients. Provide advice to team members across the Firm on applicable laws and the interpretation of legal documents. Remain current in knowledge about new laws, regulations, and industry trends that affect the practice group and assist with the development of policies/training. Prepare an annual business development plan that targets new work from new/existing clients. Lead client engagements and teams with little oversight. Mentor junior team members. Build cohesive teams to bring value to client engagements. Collaborate with client teams to advise on eDiscovery/Information Governance issues. Position Requirements: A minimum of ten years of experience managing eDiscovery in complex litigation and investigations.JD from U.S. accredited law school. Admitted to a US bar. Flexibility for U.S. and International travel. Strong experience drafting complex discovery related and information governance related work product, such as legal memoranda and correspondence, protective orders, ESI agreements, motions, playbook components, and defensibility memoranda. Ability to draft talking points for client meetings, custodian interviews, and motion hearings. Prior success in collaborating directly with clients, co-counsel to effectively manage client workstreams. Ability to work with experts, including task and matter management and preparation of experts for oral testimony. Ideal candidates participate in industry-relevant organizations/groups with ability to identify firm initiatives in subjects and areas for thought leadership and development. Demonstrated thought leadership in one or more practice areas of value to the Firm. Strong technical, client management, project plan design, and project leadership skills. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of legal principles regarding eDiscovery, information governance, and data privacy. Salary $310k - $350k commensurate with experience and location.
