Overview

What you will do:The Senior Cell Validation Engineer is responsible for planning, executing and maintaining validation activities at Clarios' Lithium Ion and Advanced Products Laboratory. The engineer will also collaborate with cross-functional teams (cells, modelling, and functional safety teams) to create test specifications that will characterize the electrical, life, and safety performance of different cell chemistries. This role will be onsite in Glendale five days a week.How you will do it:Collaborate with engineers to define test plans that meet requirements and test targetsTimely communication of key findings and test issues with all stakeholdersManage and perform dozens of tests, across multiple cells chemistries, using different tests equipmentRecognize problems from test results and make appropriate recommendationsAble to program instrumentation and write test scriptsCompile data and generate test results and reports accurately and on timeMaintain and troubleshoot testing equipment including cyclers, chambers and computersMonitor and maintain calibration of test equipment and instrumentationWork collaboratively with the other functional groups to conduct root cause analysisSupport IATF 16949 audits and inspections by providing validation documents and evidenceAble to work independently following good laboratory practices and in a safe manner with zero recordable incidents or PPE violationsSource external test facilities for testing and supervise testing at outsourced labs when requiredTrain new employees on required testing procedures per the laboratory's skills matrix such that they can operate independently with proficiency.What we look forRequired:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution5 years' minimum experience in advanced cells testing, preferably in automotive or energy storage applicationsExperience with cell modeling and data analysis toolsHands-on expertise with cells tests equipment and diagnostics toolsSolid communication, presentation and organizational skills.Preferred:Experience with using Bitrode, Arbin, Maccors battery testers, experience with Digatron programming is a plusStrong skills in key software programs such as Excel, Word and Microsoft ProjectAbility to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulationsKnowledge of ultracapacitors/supercapacitors is a plusExperience with CAD, 3D printing and fixtures design is a plusAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from stakeholdersStrong project management and process improvement skillsAbility to manage multiple projects/activitiesWhat you get:Medical, dental and vision care coverage and a 401(k) savings plan with company matching - all starting on date of hireTuition reimbursement, perks, and discountsParental and caregiver leave programsAll the usual benefits such as paid time off, flexible spending, short-and long-term disability, basic life insurance, business travel insurance, and Employee Assistance ProgramGlobal market strength and worldwide market share leadershipHQ location earns LEED certification for sustainability plus a full-service cafeteria and workout facilityClarios has been recognized as one of 2026's Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere.
