Job Description

Overview

The Senior Cell Validation Engineer at Clarios is responsible for planning and executing validation activities in the company's Lithium Ion and Advanced Products Laboratory. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to create test specifications and ensures the testing of different cell chemistries meets safety and performance standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Define and manage test plans with cross-functional engineering teams
  • Communicate key findings and test issues to stakeholders
  • Conduct various tests across multiple cell chemistries using diverse testing equipment
  • Program instrumentation and write test scripts for effective testing
  • Compile and accurately report test results
  • Maintain and troubleshoot testing equipment and ensure proper calibration
  • Conduct root cause analysis in collaboration with other functional groups
  • Support IATF 16949 audits with necessary validation documentation
  • Train new employees on testing procedures

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in advanced cell testing, preferably in automotive or energy storage
  • Hands-on expertise with cell testing equipment and diagnostics
  • Experience with cell modeling and data analysis tools
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with battery testing tools such as Bitrode, Arbin, and Maccors
  • Knowledge of ultracapacitors/supercapacitors
  • Experience with CAD and 3D printing
  • Project management and process improvement skills
