Job Description

Overview

The Senior Cell Validation Engineer at Clarios will be responsible for planning, executing, and maintaining validation activities in the Lithium Ion and Advanced Products Laboratory. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to create and implement test specifications aimed at characterizing the performance of various cell chemistries, with a focus on electrical, life, and safety metrics.

Key responsibilities

  • Define test plans in collaboration with engineers to meet requirements and targets
  • Communicate key findings and test issues to stakeholders
  • Manage and perform tests across multiple cell chemistries using various test equipment
  • Analyze test results to recognize problems and make recommendations
  • Program instrumentation and write test scripts
  • Compile data and generate test results and reports accurately and on time
  • Maintain and troubleshoot testing equipment, including cyclers and chambers
  • Monitor and maintain calibration of test equipment
  • Assist in root cause analysis with cross-functional teams
  • Source and supervise outsourced testing facilities when needed
  • Train new employees on testing procedures

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • 5 years of experience in advanced cell testing
  • Experience with cell modeling and data analysis tools
  • Hands-on expertise with battery testing equipment
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Experience with Bitrode, Arbin, and Maccors battery testers
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project
  • Knowledge of ultracapacitors and supercapacitors
  • Experience with CAD and 3D printing
  • Project management and process improvement skills
