Job Description

Overview

The Senior Buyer at U.S. Tsubaki Power Transmission, LLC is tasked with managing procurement and planning activities to ensure that materials are sourced at competitive prices and delivered on time. This role involves collaborating with various departments to align procurement with demand forecasts and establishing strategic relationships with suppliers to support the company's operational needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee and execute material plan goals to improve cash flow and material turns
  • Manage procurement and planning activities, including strategic supplier development
  • Collaborate with production, logistics, and other teams to align procurement with demand
  • Negotiate with vendors to achieve cost savings and favorable terms
  • Track supplier performance and drive continuous improvements
  • Lead supplier selections, RFQs, and contract negotiations
  • Monitor compliance with contracts and specifications
  • Resolve pricing and lead-time issues to meet business needs
  • Implement new opportunities and cost savings initiatives
  • Conduct supplier visits to review performance

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or APICS/ISM Certification
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP principles and supply chain planning
  • 3 years of Materials, Planning, and Inventory experience
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Knowledge of import/export regulations and tariffs
  • Proficient in Excel and Project Planning
