Overview

The Senior Buyer at U.S. Tsubaki is responsible for overseeing procurement and planning activities to align with business needs, focusing on improving material flow, cash flow, and on-time delivery. This role involves managing supplier relationships, conducting negotiations, and collaborating closely with internal teams to meet procurement requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee and execute material plan goals based on business needs
  • Manage procurement and planning activities while sharing best practices
  • Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers
  • Lead RFQs and contract negotiations to achieve cost savings
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvements
  • Collaborate with production planning, operations, and logistics teams
  • Review supplier contracts and compliance documents
  • Resolve pricing and lead time issues
  • Implement new opportunities and cost savings
  • Conduct supplier visits to review performance

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or APICS/ISM Certification
  • 3+ years of experience in Materials, Planning, and Inventory
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP principles and supply chain planning
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills across all organizational levels
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Knowledge of import/export regulations and tariffs
  • Proficient in Excel and Project Planning
