Overview

347 Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Biologist for a part-time role in the Santa Clara and Fremont areas. This position involves oversight and implementation of biological, archaeological, and safety compliance at construction sites, requiring collaboration with construction teams to ensure environmental standards are met.

Key responsibilities

  • Review project documents and evaluate requirements
  • Document presence of protected bird species, nests, and buffers
  • Conduct daily field inspections for compliance
  • Submit daily inspection reports and required photos to stakeholders
  • Conduct training for daily environmental updates
  • Coordinate with construction teams regarding planned work activities and change orders
  • Attend construction meetings as required

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, Anthropology, Archaeology or related field
  • 7+ years of relevant experience or equivalent education
  • Experience in construction compliance monitoring
  • Ability to identify habitat suitability and special-status wildlife in the Bay Area
  • Knowledge of native and non-native plant and animal species
  • Understanding of state and federal laws for species and habitat protection
  • Knowledge of permit application requirements
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Valid US Driver's license
