Job Description

Overview

The Senior Bench Technician at Caliber Sales Engineering Inc. is responsible for the successful completion of projects involving the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic components and systems. This role requires not only technical expertise in electronics but also the ability to supervise team members and engage in effective communication with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to assemble and repair equipment.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair electronic assemblies and test equipment.
  • Perform soldering/desoldering of electronic components to PCBs.
  • Analyze and interpret test data to recommend changes in circuitry.
  • Assist in generating technical reports and documentation.
  • Develop test sets for functional and operational testing.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to quality standards.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings.

Required skills

  • Experience in manufacturing engineering or related field (6+ years).
  • Bench testing and troubleshooting experience (3+ years).
  • Proficiency in using test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, RF analyzers).
  • Knowledge of electrical theory and engineering mathematics.
  • Familiarity with software tools (Quantum, SharePoint, Microsoft Project).
  • IPC certification (Connector/Harness and PCB preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
