Overview

As a Senior Auto Adjuster at USAA, you will manage the end-to-end process of adjusting complex auto insurance claims, ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations. You will utilize your negotiation and problem-solving skills to provide exceptional service to members while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Investigates coverage, liability, and physical damage for complex auto claims.
  • Negotiates liability for comparative negligence and settlement values.
  • Identifies coverage concerns and creates Special Investigation Unit referrals when necessary.
  • Gathers information from various parties to determine liability.
  • Analyzes information to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Resolves claims through proactive problem-solving and effective workload prioritization.
  • Documents the process of damage evaluation, investigation, and settlement.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners for claims resolution.
  • Utilizes digital tools to enhance communication and service.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
  • 2 years of customer service experience
  • 1 year of experience handling low to moderately complex auto non-injury liability claims
  • Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license within 90 days
  • Experience determining auto liability coverage
  • Proficient knowledge of auto claims contracts and state regulations
  • Strong negotiation, investigation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent analytical, prioritizing, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively assess risk and respond appropriately
