Overview

As a Senior Auto Adjuster at USAA, you'll be responsible for adjusting highly complex auto insurance claims involving end-to-end claims processes while ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations. You will provide exceptional service through proactive communication and problem-solving skills, serving a vital role in the claims resolution process for the military community and their families.

Key responsibilities

  • Investigate coverage, liability, and physical damage for complex auto claims
  • Negotiate liability for comparative negligence
  • Identify coverage concerns and create referrals for special investigations
  • Analyze information to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Evaluate and negotiate settlements for auto claims
  • Document decision-making processes clearly
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support workload surges and catastrophe response operations as needed

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of customer service experience
  • 1 year of experience with non-injury auto liability claims
  • Acquisition and maintenance of an insurance adjuster license
  • Understanding of auto claims contracts and state laws
  • Strong negotiation, investigation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficient in analyzing risk and determining appropriate responses
  • Experience with Guidewire Claims Center is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree and active adjuster's license preferred
