Job Description

Overview

As a Senior Auto Adjuster at USAA, you will be responsible for adjusting complex auto insurance claims, ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations while providing exceptional service to our members. This role involves effective communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to resolve claims in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities

  • Investigate to determine coverage, liability, and physical damage for complex auto claims.
  • Negotiate liability for comparative negligence and determine settlement values.
  • Interact with multiple parties to gather necessary information for claims.
  • Document thought processes including damage evaluations and settlement decisions.
  • Collaborate with external and internal partners to facilitate claims resolution.
  • Support workload surges and catastrophe response operations as needed.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of customer service experience
  • 1 year handling low to moderately complex auto non-injury liability claims
  • Insurance adjuster license within 90 days
  • Knowledge of auto liability coverage and claims process
  • Negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Guidewire Claims Center experience (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • Active Adjuster's License (preferred)
