Overview

At USAA, the Senior Auto Adjuster - Complex Non-Injury role focuses on adjusting non-injury auto claims, requiring investigation, coverage determination, and complex negotiations. This position is based in Tampa, Florida, with a flexible work environment once initial onboarding is complete.

Key responsibilities

  • Investigate coverage, liability, and physical damage for complex auto claims
  • Negotiate liability and settle claims within established authority limits
  • Identify coverage concerns and create referrals to Special Investigation Unit (SIU) as needed
  • Gather information from multiple parties to determine liability
  • Analyze information to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Document damage evaluation, negotiation, and settlement decisions clearly
  • Collaborate with business partners to facilitate claims resolution
  • Support workload surges and catastrophe response operations as needed
  • Organize and analyze risks associated with business activities

Required skills

  • 2 years of customer service experience
  • 1 year handling low to moderately complex auto non-injury liability claims
  • Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license within 90 days
  • Experience determining auto liability coverage
  • Proficient knowledge of auto claims contracts, case law, and state laws
  • Demonstrated negotiation, investigation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven analytical, multi-tasking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of Guidewire Claims Center
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Active Adjuster's License
