Overview

As a Senior Auto Adjuster at USAA, you will handle complex non-injury auto insurance claims, ensuring compliance with state laws and delivering exceptional service to members. The role involves thorough investigation, negotiation, and effective communication with various parties while working within established guidelines.

Key responsibilities

  • Investigates coverage, liability, and physical damage for complex auto claims.
  • Negotiates liability and determines settlement values for first and third-party claims.
  • Identifies coverage concerns and creates Special Investigation Unit referrals when necessary.
  • Analyzes information to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Documents investigation, negotiation, and settlement decisions.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners to facilitate claims resolution.
  • Utilizes digital tools for effective communication and timely service.
  • Supports workload surges and may respond to catastrophe claims.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are managed according to policy.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
  • 2 years of customer service experience
  • 1 year of experience with low to moderately complex auto non-injury claims
  • Insurance adjuster license within 90 days of employment
  • Experience in determining auto liability coverage
  • Negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage risks according to compliance policies
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • Active Adjuster's License (preferred)
  • Guidewire Claims Center experience (preferred)
  • Dispute resolution and arbitration knowledge (preferred)
