Overview

Cookman Law PC is seeking an experienced Senior Attorney in estate planning and special needs planning to join their team in Houston, Texas. This role focuses on providing high-quality legal services while allowing attorneys to concentrate on the practice of law without the pressures of solo practice.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead initial estate planning and special needs planning consultations to assess client needs
  • Manage limited conservatorship cases including drafting, filing, and representing clients in court
  • Draft core estate planning documents including trusts, wills, and powers of attorney
  • Handle online court appearances for limited conservatorship matters
  • Collaborate with the legal team to ensure smooth case progression and stellar client experience
  • Support clients through trust administration matters

Required skills

  • Active California Bar License
  • Experience with special needs planning and limited conservatorships
  • Strong drafting, research, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage matters independently and collaborate with a remote team
  • Compassionate, client-focused mindset
  • Curiosity and motivation to grow skills in special needs planning
