Job Description

Overview

As a Senior Associate in SEC Accounting at Capital One, you will help shape the financial reporting automation vision and enhance the user experience for associates across the division. Your role will involve leading automation initiatives, serving as a liaison between business strategy and technology, and maximizing the value of the Workiva system for internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist Finance teams in understanding technology capabilities and leverage them for better impact
  • Design, configure, test, implement, and support technical and business solutions for external reporting systems
  • Engage on enterprise and team initiatives and write business requirements
  • Craft epics and user stories for technology partners in an agile environment
  • Identify and manage risks, assumptions, dependencies, and escalations
  • Support troubleshooting and testing efforts across multiple platforms
  • Communicate with key stakeholders and craft materials for leadership updates
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues and recommend future state improvements

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 1 year of accounting experience, SEC reporting experience, or a combination
  • At least 1 year of experience with Financial Systems
  • At least 2 years of Workiva Wdesk experience (preferred)
  • Experience translating business strategy into consumer-facing digital products (preferred)
  • Experience working on core product platforms powering digital experiences (preferred)
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in an agile environment (preferred)
