Overview

Qualcomm is seeking a Senior ASIC Verification Engineer to join their team in Markham, Ontario. This role involves innovating and designing complex, ultra-low power solutions for audio and context-aware applications. The engineer will contribute to key ASIC verification tasks, focusing on both pre and post-silicon phases of next-generation ASICs.

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to core verification during the pre/post-silicon phase of next generation ASICs through simulation
  • Drive test plan development, execution, and verification closure in conjunction with design and verification teams
  • Create and maintain a test bench, assertions, and functional coverage models
  • Implement flows to automate development processes and identify areas for improvement
  • Lead complex debug activities through the development cycle
  • Provide technical supervision to other engineers
  • Work closely with design to define verification methodology and develop required tests

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of relevant work experience OR Master's degree
  • 3+ years ASIC design, verification, or related work experience
  • Proficiency with Verilog/VHDL RTL design languages
  • Solid understanding of ASIC/VLSI concepts
  • Experience with SystemVerilog testbench (UVM) and/or SystemC
  • Good working experience with C or C++
  • Strong knowledge of digital circuits and event-driven simulators
  • Knowledge of Perl, tcsh, Python, and GNU Make is a strong asset
  • Experience with automotive safety concepts and standards such as ISO26262
