Overview

Pacific Life is seeking a Senior Actuary (FSA) to join the Enterprise Valuation Fixed Annuity Projections team. This role involves leading and executing actuarial projections for fixed annuities while collaborating with team members across various locations. The position is primarily on-site with a hybrid schedule and is based in Newport Beach, CA, Omaha, NE, or Charlotte, NC.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of the Actuarial Opinion and Memorandum on Asset Adequacy Testing and C3 Phase I scenario testing.
  • Develop and consolidate operating models for individual and group fixed annuity projections.
  • Eliminate redundancy across shared tasks such as data aggregation and analysis.
  • Become a subject matter expert in fixed annuities actuarial projection models.
  • Develop tools for enhanced model efficiency and analytics.
  • Collaborate with senior management and provide actuarial expertise to others.
  • Communicate complex actuarial concepts to diverse audiences effectively.

Required skills

  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) with 6+ years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with asset and liability projections
  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
  • Technical proficiency in actuarial modeling software (Prophet, Snowflake/SQL)
  • Familiarity with visualization tools (Tableau or Power BI) and automation software (Python, VBA, R)
