Overview

Pacific Life is seeking a Senior Actuary to join their Enterprise Finance and Actuarial Projects team. This role involves leading complex finance and actuarial projects and collaborating with various teams to support enterprise-wide initiatives. The position offers a blend of on-site work and remote flexibility, emphasizing personal growth and career development.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex finance and actuarial projects.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
  • Support enterprise finance and actuarial transformation efforts.
  • Drive implementation of new actuarial reporting requirements and methodologies.
  • Communicate complex actuarial concepts to non-actuarial stakeholders.
  • Implement new regulatory changes involving actuarial responsibilities.
  • Mentor and train junior actuarial staff.
  • Summarize findings for senior management and provide actionable recommendations.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's in actuarial science, Computer Science, Finance, Mathematics, or related field
  • 6+ years' actuarial experience with FSA designation
  • Knowledge of reporting frameworks including regulatory and management reporting
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Experience with software/programming using Python, R, Visual Basic, and SQL
  • Proficient in BI tools (Power BI and/or Tableau)
  • Experience with databases such as Snowflake and Oracle
